About Podiatry

Podiatry is a school of medical treatment focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot disorders, diseases and the various bio-mechanical problems people have with their feet. It is estimated that 85% of people on the planet have at least some or other foot problem.

The Reason for this is that in in modern society we all walk om hard flat paved surfaces. Our feat are however not designed for this, and as a result we place an unnatural amount of pressure on our feet. This leads to deformities and bio-mechanical problems, problems that a podiatrist can help relieve.

What is a Podiatrist?

A podiatrist is a highly trained professional in the care of the foot and ankle. Podiatrists are concerned with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot ailments by biomechanical, surgical and other treatment methods.

Podiatrists are often called upon by other physicians and health care professionals for consultation and treatment of foot problems, which can be experienced by everyone from children to seniors.
